Why Go
Camp Bestival was purpose-built for families who love festivals. The lineup mixes chart-topping headliners with a massive programme of activities for children of all ages, from toddler raves to science workshops. The castle and coastal setting make it feel like a holiday and a festival rolled into one. For campervan families that holiday feeling is easy to stretch: Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door are practically next door, and Weymouth, Corfe Castle and the rest of the Jurassic Coast are within easy reach. Booking a coastal campsite for a few nights before or after the festival turns one weekend ticket into a proper summer holiday, and means you arrive at the festival already settled into van life rather than frazzled from a long drive.
Campervan Information
Campervan Access & Facilities
Camp Bestival has excellent campervan facilities with flat, well-drained pitches near the castle. Campervan tickets sell separately and include a generous pitch size. The campervan area has its own toilet block with proper flushing facilities and water taps. It is one of the most family-friendly campervan festival setups in the UK. To make the most of it, set up a proper base camp: a windbreak or gazebo beside the van creates shade and a safe play area, and a doormat and shoe tub keep castle-field grass out of your living space. With kids on board, self-sufficiency is your friend — arrive with fresh water full and waste empty, bring more snacks and milk than you think you need, and pack ear defenders and a festival trolley for the daily walk to the arena. Power-wise a healthy leisure battery covers fridge, lights and bedtime story tablets across the weekend; a solar panel keeps everything topped up in the late-July sun. Aim to arrive early on day one so you can pitch, level and build your camp before the children hit their limit, and be a good neighbour: keep your kit inside your pitch and remember that the vans around you are full of sleeping kids from about 9pm.
Top Tips for Campervans

Bring a windbreak or gazebo to create an outdoor living space beside your van.
Visit Lulworth Cove and the Jurassic Coast on the day before or after the festival.
Pack fancy dress outfits as there are themed dress-up days throughout the weekend.
Arrive early on the first day so camp is built and level before the kids run out of patience.
A festival trolley doubles as kid transport and kit carrier — the single most useful thing you can pack.
